Dr. Madhusudan Pal, joins FDDI as Director, CoEs

Dr. Madhusudan Pal, Scientist-G, Department of Ergonomics, Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has assumed charge as Director, Center of Excellences (CoEs), FDDI, on 11th August 2023.

Dr. Pal holds M Sc. and Ph D degrees in Human Physiology from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal and Diploma in Ergonomics from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai.

Dr. Pal joined as Scientist-B in the Department of Ergonomics, DIPAS, DRDO Delhi, in 1998. He has served as Head of the Department of Ergonomics, Member Secretary of Specialist Panel of Physiology of Extreme Environment and Behaviour, Life Science Research Board of DRDO, Project Director, Team Leader for formulation of DRDO Guideline of Human Factors Integration (HFI), Human Reliability Analysis (HRA). Dr. Pal is a recipient of Technology Group Award, Scientist of the Year Award from DRDO for his research contributions. Dr. Pal is also recipient of Prof. Chitaleakha Mukherjee and Prof B B Sarkar Memorial Oration awards from The Physiological Society of India.

Dr. Pal is office bearers of Indian Society of Ergonomics and Association of Physiologists of India; and life member of Indian Association of Biomedical Scientist, Association of Physiologists & Pharmacologists, Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Academic of Neurosciences, Physiological Society of India and Indian Society for Applied Mechanics.

As a keen researcher and a thorough academic, Dr. Pal has developed seven technologies, transferred to Industrial partner for commercialization and most of the technologies used by Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). Dr. Pal has published about 60 publications in peer reviewed journals/conference proceedings and protected 19 intellectual properties through Design registration, patent and copy right.
