To provide a better understanding and to educate the 3rd semester students of School of Fashion Design (FD) on various colour techniques and different mediums used for colour application, a workshop on ‘Fashion Illustration (Colour Rendering)’ was held on September 29, 2023 at FDDI, Noida.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Nikhilesh Kumar Prajapati, an accomplished artist hailing from Varanasi who has earned numerous awards from prestigious art galleries, including recognition from the State Lalit Kala Academy and IFACS.
He provided insights into the process of developing fabric swatches through the use of colour. The students also received instruction on the art of capturing body gestures in their illustrations.
On 26th September, 2023, a group of 29 students of 3rd semester students of FD, accompanied by their faculty were provided technical exposure at Shahpur Market, Delhi during their visit at functional stores who are doing jobs from pattern making, dyeing to embroidery, Swarovski onto a lace red saree.
The Master Craftsmen at these at functional stores taught the students how to do embroidery on Zardozi using pearls and sequins and also provided technical inputs to them.
This hands on exposure proved to be an enriching and informative experience for the students allowing them to acquire a deeper understanding and proficiency in these essential aspects of fashion design.
