On 20th September 2023, Mr. Vikram Singh, Strategic Head – Investment, British High Commission (BHC) visited Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida campus.
During the visit, he met Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary/Managing Director (MD), FDDI and had a long discussion to identify and promote new opportunities at higher levels of education, prospective academic collaborations, testing etc.
During his two hour stay, Mr. Vikram Singh visited the campus of the institute including the state-of-art facilities and infrastructure as established at School of Footwear Design & Production, School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design, School of Fashion Design and School of Retail and Fashion Merchandise.
Sharing the details, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary/MD, FDDI said, “The purpose of the visit was to have prospective discussion on reaching a common ground on issues of training & education and testing services in getting an alliance with the British Footwear Association, United Kingdom (UK), associating with the technical committees of SATRA, UK and forging linkages for industry-academia as well institutional collaboration.”
Mr. Vikram Singh also visited the newly established Physical & Chemical Laboratory of International Testing Center (ITC) of FDDI which are equipped with new advanced machines for improving testing and inspection in a transparent manner. He saw the various testing-cum-quality control services being provided by it for leather, plastics, rubbers, textiles, footwear, artificial limbs, sports goods & tests for harmful substances.
He also saw the display of leather, lifestyle and fashion products designs and sketches and interacted with the faculty members.
