FDDI attends inaugural session of ‘Yashobhoomi’

On 17th September 2023, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation ‘Yashobhoomi’ - International Exhibition & Convention Centre, at Dwarka, New Delhi.

On this occasion, the Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs (UMF&CA), Government of India (GoI), Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles (HCIM, CA, F&PD&T), GoI, Mr. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Mr. Narayan Tatu Rane, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon'ble Minister of State, Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Kaushal Kishore were also present.

The Convention Center, built across more than 73,000 square metres of area, comprises 15 convention rooms including the Main Auditorium, the Grand Ballroom and 13 meeting rooms with a total capacity of holding 11,000 delegates. The wooden floors and the acoustic wall panels used in the auditorium of ‘Yashobhoomi’ ensures the world class experience for the visitor. It also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability as it is equipped with a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system with 100% wastewater reuse, with the provisions of rainwater harvesting.

The operationalization of ‘Yashobhoomi’ will help India tap the growing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry and to attract & promote business and industry.

On this occasion, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme for providing collateral-free loans and skills training to 18 categories of traditional artisans and craftspersons. The scheme will cover traditional crafts of carpenters; boat makers; armourers; blacksmiths; hammer and tool kit makers; locksmiths; goldsmiths; potters; sculptors, stone breakers; cobblers (Shoesmith/ Footwear artisan); masons (Rajmistri); Basket/Mat/Broom Makers/Coir Weavers; Doll & Toy Makers (Traditional); barbers; garland makers; washermen; tailors; and fishing net makers.

This provided an opportunity for FDDI to attend the joyous & historic ceremony.
