Exemption from Written Test for CAT / MAT Candidates

Candidates attempted CAT/MAT test are eligible for exemption from appearing in the written test of FDDI. However score secured by them in CAT/MAT shall be considered as per the following criteria:

  1. For CAT/MAT: The CAT/MAT percentile will be equated at par with FDDI percentile. Marks corresponding to the nearest percentile of the candidate who has appeared in the FDDI written test will be allotted and the candidate having CAT/MAT percentile will be positioned just below such candidate. For example the candidate having 92.84 percentile in CAT will be equated to the nearest percentile of candidate appeared in FDDI written test, which is say 92.75 and the marks corresponding to the percentile is 160/300 in the case the CAT student with 92.84 percentile will also be allotted 160 marks. However, in case of CAT student who has also appeared in FDDI written examination, the best of the two marks as per the above methods shall be allotted. Similar formula will be applied in the case of MAT candidates as well.

  2. The score of CAT/MAT prior to 2006 examination shall not be considered.

  3. Candidates will also have an option to appear for FDDI written test. In that case the best of the two exam i.e. MAT/CAT or FDDI written examination will be considered for the merit of selection as per the methods stated above.

Thus the common merit list of written test will be prepared for candidates appeared in the written test of FDDI and applied under CAT & MAT category. Accordingly, shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Design Aptitude Test (DAT)
