What are the courses offered for undergraduates, i.e., after 10+2?
A:

The following are the courses offered after 10+2,

  • Diploma in Footwear Technology (DFT) – 3 Years
  • Diploma in Leather Goods & Accessories Design (DLGAD) – 3 Years
  • Diploma in Fashion Merchandizing & Retail Management (DFMRM) – 3 Years
  • Footwear Manufacturing Technology (FMT) – 06 Months

What are the courses offered for graduates?
A:

We have following courses after graduation -

  • PG Diploma in Management - Footwear Technology (PGDM-FT) – 02 Years
  • PG Diploma in Leather Goods & Accessories Design (PGDLGAD) – 02 Years
  • PG Diploma in Retail Management (PGDRM) – 02 Years
  • PG Diploma in Creative Designing & CAD/CAM - 02 Years
  • PG Diploma in Visual Merchandizing & Communication Design (PGDVM &CD) – 02 Years
   
Q:
If I am an appearing student of final year, am I eligible to apply for the courses?
A:
Yes, candidates appearing for 10+2 and graduation final year may apply for the courses, provided they are required to submit their passing mark sheet before starting the course.
   
Q:
From where I can get the application form?
A:

You may collect the hard copy of Prospectus along with Admission Form From:-

1. FDDI Campus at Noida, Rai Bareilly & Chennai.
2.The Prospectus can also be procured from 55 branches of Axis Bank across India. (Details of branches is available on our website)

Can I use last year application form?
A:
No. You are required to use the new application form.
   
Q:
What charges do I need to pay for the application form? How can I pay it?
A:
1. Prospectus along with application form may be obtained from FDDI campus against the payment of Rs. 1,000/- Cash / DD in favour of “FDDI” payable at New Delhi. One can also get the prospectus by sending the DD for Rs.1,000/-.
2. Through Credit Card.
3. You can also get the prospectus form Selected Axis Bank Branches across India against the payment of Rs. 1,000/-. (Details of branches is available on our website)

A:

Q:
Do I need to retain the photocopy of the Admission Form?
A:
Yes, for all future correspondence with FDDI with respect to non-receipt of Admit Cards and other queries, if any.
   
Q:
Is there any reservation for industry sponsored candidates?
A:
Yes, 10% seats are reserved in UG and PG programmes for the industry-sponsored candidates.
   
Q:
What FDDI offers NRIs/Foreign Nationals?
A:
The admission in FDDI courses are open to overseas / NRI students. 5% seats are reserved for such students. The admission is on first-come-first–serve basis, if they meet the required eligibility criteria as applicable to Indian students.
   
Q:
Will I have to go through any entrance exam or any other selection criteria if I want to take admission in any programme of FDDI?
A:
Yes, for UG and PG courses you have to undergo an All India Selection Test (AIST), which will be followed by Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Creative Ability Test. If you are applying as an Industry sponsored candidate you need not to appear for written test you will be directly called for Personal Interview and Creative Ability Test.

NOTE: Creative Ability Test is applicable only for PGDCD, PGDLGAD, PGDVM-CD & DLGAD programmes.

If you are applying for Short-term course, the selection will be done on first-come-first-serve basis.

   
Q:
Where would entrance exam held?
A:
Written exam for UG and PG courses will held all over India in 30 centres you may choose your nearby centre as given in prospectus while Group discussion, Personal Interview and Creative Ability Test will take place at NOIDA.
   
Q:
What is the pattern of written exam?
A:
The test of written exam comprises of English, Math, G.K. / General Science and Reasoning.

Are sample question papers available?
A:
The solved sample model question papers for FDDI Entrance Examination are available in the prospectus. You can also attempt a mock test online at our website.
   
   
Q:
In case I do not receive my Admit Card till the date of my Examination, what should I do?
A:
As per schedule, you should be receiving your Admit Card latest by to be announced

Q:
Can I change my Test Centre for the Examination?
A:
No, Centre once allotted will not be changed.
   
Q:
Where is the programmes held?
A:
All long term programmes are conducted at our NOIDA, Fursatganj, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak and Chhindwara Campuss. However, a few short-term course are also conducted at Noida & Chennai centre.
   
Q:
Is it mandatory to stay at the institute campus?
A:
No, this is not mandatory if you have your own facility for accommodation you can live there. FDDI has a full fudged hostel facility for both boys and girls, which is offered on first-come-first-serve basis.
   
Q:
What is the programme day scheduled?
A:
A typical programme day starts at 09.30 am and goes on to 5.00 pm. There are two sessions in a day first session starts from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, which includes a 15 minutes tea break. After 45 minutes lunch break second session starts from 01:30 pm to 05:00 pm, which also includes a 15 minutes tea break. In case of more workload students may ask to stay late in the evening or come early in the morning to complete the course.

What are the career prospects?
A:
These are different for different streams. Details are available in the prospectus.

Are placement services available?
A:
Yes, participants those who are not sponsored by companies may avail the campus placement facility. Several companies have already indicated strong interest toward FDDI. So far FDDI has 100% placement of its students in different MNC as well as other renowned domestic footwear companies.
   
Q:
What average salary FDDI students are offred?
A:
FDDI students are enjoying an average salary of Rs 11000-16500 per month initially.
   
Q:
Where FDDI Campus is situated?
A:
The FDDI campuses are located at six different locations, NOIDA (U.P.), Fursatganj (RaiBareli - UP) , Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Rohtak (Haryana), Chhindwara (M.P.) and Kolkata (West Bengal).
