On 16th December 2023, FDDI, Noida campus held its Convocation ceremony for the passing out students of the Session 2022 & 2023.
The event was graced by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOC&I), Government of India (GoI) as the ‘Chief Guest’, whereas the other distinguished guests of the event who graced the occasion were Mr. Motilal Sethi, Managing Director, M/s. Saroj International, President – Indian Leather Garments Association (ILGA) and Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Director, M/s. Sandeep Rubber, President - Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA).
On behalf of FDDI, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Managing Director (MD), FDDI welcomed the ‘Chief Guest’ and all the other delegates including person from the print and electronic media during which the staff & students were also present.
The Convocation ceremony began with the lighting-up of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest alongwith other dignitaries.
Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, MD, FDDI in his ‘Welcome Address’ said, “This graduation day is fulfilment of your years of hard work for you and your parents for many of you; who invested their hard earned money in educating you. I have no doubt that you will excel in whatever you choose to do and be successful in meeting the challenges that awaits you.”
“Each of the graduating students is the ambassador of FDDI at the place wherever you shall be. It is your reputation and batch after batch, that make the future of the coming generation bright. Now being part of FDDI, you need to strengthen the alumni networking so that more and more FDDI students achieve greater laurel in various field of success,” added Mr. Sinha.
Marking the successful completion of their respective professional programme, a total of 496 students belonging to the Session 2022 & 2023 were awarded their Degrees, out of which 310 attended the historic ceremony held at the institute premises.
The Valedictorians were called on the stage first, where they received their medals at the hands of the Chief Guest, proof of their undying, ever present effort towards achievement of excellence in their respective programmes.

For the Class of 2022 and 2023, for their exceptional performance, the department topper was awarded the Silver medal and overall topper was awarded the Gold medal.
Secretary, DPIIT in his ‘Keynote Address’ said that, “You are obtaining your Degrees at a time when India stands on the cusp of Change. India has emerged as the fastest growing economy in the world.”
Secretary, DPIIT encouraged the students to be catalysts for change, contributing to the growth and development of the country.
In a spectacular display of academic prowess and innovation, the students of FDDI School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), School of Fashion Design (FD), School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design (LGAD), and School of Retail and Fashion Merchandise (RFM) displayed their works in the form of presentations. They had put up stalls where a display of footwear, leather art crafts, designs, sketches etc. was made.
The program concluded with the “Vote of Thanks”.
