FDDI participated in the two days National Workshop on ‘Design Education and NEP 2020’ which was inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary, DPIIT on 01st December 2023 at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi during which Ms. Arti Bhatnagar, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, DPIIT, MOC was also present.
The event was meticulously organized by NID Haryana in collaboration with NID Ahmedabad, NID Bhopal, NID Assam, and NID Andhra Pradesh during which more than 20 design institutes across the country participated.
On this occasion, the Hon'ble Secretary, DPIIT released the report "Design Education - Now and Ahead" prepared by NID Haryana which forwards a Vision for Design Education in the country that shall equip designers with the skills and perspectives to design at the global level more inclusive, sustainable, equitable, and responsible future products, systems, organizations, and societies that are embedded in technological inventions of the times.
Engaging sessions and panel discussions brought together experts, educators, and stakeholders from across the country to delve into the nuances of the subject of discussion.
Representatives from FDDI from different domains, including Mr. Anoop Singh Rana (HOS-LGAD), Ms. Shweta Saini (HOS-Retail), Ms. Krishi (HOS-FD), and faculties Mr. Rajesh Verma, Mr. Hafiz, and Mr. Gaurav Singh actively participated and presented inputs in subgroups task.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory session by Mr. Ankur Jain, Microsoft UI UX Head, who provided valuable insights into the future of design and UI/UX. An interactive session ensued, during which representatives from FDDI invited Mr. Jain to visit the institute for workshops and student-based projects.
