'Proscenia-2013' organized at FDDI, Chennai
 

An exhibition on footwear, fashion and retail was organized at the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Chennai on 13th & 14th November 2013.

 

The two day event named 'Proscenia', which means 'Glimpse on Stage' showcased the fashion elements, merchandises, theme shoes, accessories & design approach and store design made by students of the School of Footwear Design & Production Management (FDPM), School of Fashion Design (SFD) and School of Retail Management (SRM) of FDDI, Chennai.

The chief guest for the exhibition was Mr. S. K. Kannan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sriperumbudur Division Chennai.

Sharing the details, Mr. Raajeev j Lakhara, Managing Director, FDDI, said, “'Proscenia' was successful in culminating the unique approach and skills acquired by the students to lead the highly competitive leather, footwear, fashion industry besides the emerging retail sector.”

 

Mr. Natarajan- Project Director - Skill Development Cooperation Tamil Nadu, Mr. A. John Raj, Treasurer - Arul Jayam Welfare Society, Tanjavur District, Tamil Nadu and Ms. Santhini, Project Officer - State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT), Sriperumbudur also graced the exhibition with their presence and admiration.

 

The exhibition included design concepts in footwear, fashion and retail and was draped with ideas that were novel and innovative. From various themes and moods to the actual products, the onlookers were able to have an idea of what exactly goes in creating product and environment.

 

FDDI students displayed their products through different themes like eco, executive collection, black cave, weird marriage, gothic punk etc.

 

“The display undoubtedly reflected the fact that the students are acquiring the adequate skills to become trendsetter and obtain leadership in innovation & creativity through the various programmes of FDDI,” added Mr. Lakhara.

 

Students from various prestigious schools such as Jaya Jaya Sankara Higher Secondary School, Somamangalam HS School, Saint Johns H S School Nazarathpeth, Kendriya Vidyalaya Guindy etc., and visitors from all walks of life also turned out & graced the exhibition.
