FDDI, Rohtak gets Second prize in 'Fashion Show'
 

Students of the School of Fashion Design (SFD) of the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Rohtak bagged 2nd prize along with cash award of ` 21,000/- in 'Fashion Show' competition which was organized by 'The Technological Institute of Textile and Sciences' (TIT&S), Bhiwani, Haryana.

 

Established in the year 1943, TIT&S is a premier technical education institution of the country attracting students from all over India and abroad. The Institute has attached to it a Textile Factory for training the students under actual mill working conditions.

The spectacular extravaganza which was held on 16th November, 2013 was attended by more than 1200 audiences comprising delegates from Ministry of Textiles, Industrialists & Designers of repute.

Elated with the developments, Mr. Raajeev j Lakhara, Managing Director, FDDI said, “The 'Fashion Show' at TIT&S offered the students a chance to explore their creativity and make them known in the fashion industry.”

 

SFD students had to fend off stiff competition from other institutes/ colleges like Hisar Polytechnic College, Hisar, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Jind Polytechnic College, Jind and TIT&S where the exemplary & eye-catching scintillating collections of FDDI students received accolades from everyone present.

 

“The students presented their work under four themes namely Ocean, Jugnu (Natural Satellite), Halloween & Indo-Western fusion,” added Mr. Lakhara.

 

The 'Fashion Show' competition was also a learning platform for the overall development of the students that allow the team spirit & values to shine and also boosted India's profile as an innovative and creative hub for the fashion industry.
