	Shower of job offers at FDDI Number of offers rises this year. Students are also being offered multiple choices by recruiters.

	Placement season has kicked off in style at the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) with students finding jobs in various companies.

	The recruitment process, initiated from first week of December 2009 for Centre for Leather Goods & Accessories Design (CLGAD), in January 2010 for Centre for Retail Management (CRM) batches and first week of February 2010 for Centre for Footwear Technology & Management (CFTM) batches saw a big leap in the number of participating companies.

	“The companies this year are responding very well. The job scenario this year has improved considerably as compared to last year. We are hopeful of a bright future. As there is still time, we expect that the numbers will be quite good this year & the students can expect far better options.” - Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI

	The institute witnessed the presence of major International Retail, Leather Goods & Footwear companies for the programmes such as PG Diploma in Retail Management (PGDRM), Diploma in Fashion Merchandizing & Retail Management (DFMRM), PG Diploma in Footwear Technology & Management - (PGFTM), PG Diploma in Creative Designing & CAD-CAM (PGDCD), Diploma in Footwear Technology (DFT),PG Diploma in Leather Goods and Accessories Design (PGDLGAD) & Diploma in Leather Goods and Accessories Design (DLGAD).

	“The placement scenario is looking much better than last year as we are seeing many first time recruiters as well. However, the salary figures are incremental and have seen slight variations as compared to the period before the slowdown”, added Mr. Lakhara.

	This year, the campus placement has witnessed the presence of companies like Adidas, Alpine Apparels, AshimaLeena, Infinity Retail, Tata International, Bata, Bazaar Connection, Catwalk, Chem Crown, Country Club, Crew BOS, Da Milano, Diesel, Drish Exports, FCG (Fashion Club Global), Franco Leone, Good Earth, Gupta Overseas, Hero Honda, HiDesign, ITC, JPC shoes, JUMBO Electronics, Kabir Leathers, KH Group, La Senza, Lakhani Arman, Leela Trends Pvt. Ltd, Levis, Mirza International, Mochiko, Panasonic, Peleteria Mallorca, PUMA, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Reebok, Ritu wears, Ronetto (Raj Exports), Sheela Overseas, Shrubs Online, Schdane, Titan, Virola International, VnM, W (Women Store), Winner Sports (Future Group) & Woodland etc., that selected students through campus placements.

	Bata offered highest package of Rs. 3.85 Lakhs per annum for the profile of District Management Trainees. Catwalk, Adidas, Tata International, Woodland, Winner Sports (Future Group), Titan, Reebok & Mochiko etc., are some other companies visited campus with the high salary package this year.

	Woodland has selected more than twelve students for the profile of Asst. Store Manager for its various stores located PAN India whereas Bata and Winner Sports (Future Group) are the other companies to recruit good number of students from the Institute.

	In FDDI, the students are placed through the campus recruitment programme. The placement activities are coordinated by a Corporate Relations & Placement Department with the help of student representatives where Placement Officials assist the students for their preliminary placements.

	The success and efficacy of the various programmes conducted by FDDI is in no small measure due to the fact that its students are particularly well prepared to be effective professionals during the learning process and are guided by a structured programme.

	FDDI keeps on delivering its promise of a career of choice with dream companies and high salaries to its outgoing batch every year.

	Reputed National and Multinational companies visit FDDI for campus interviews every year. So far FDDI has been able to achieve a 100% job placement record. All students secure job offers before they complete their course at FDDI.. As the placement process is on, the final numbers of the offers received by the students will be known once the placements are over.
