Awareness drive on ‘Elimination of Single-Use Plastic’ held at FDDI campuses

Indiscriminate disposal of plastic has become a major threat to the environment and it is the need of the hour to have a development of a comprehensive action plan for the elimination of single use plastics.

In this regard, an awareness drive on ‘Elimination of Single-Use Plastic’ was held at all the campuses of FDDI. During the awareness drive, Essay & Hackathon competitions were held on 04th & 05th May 2022.

A total of 140 students from various campuses participated in the Essay competition during which ten students received First prize i.e. Rs. 1000/- Similarly, ten second prize i.e. Rs. 750/-and nine third prize i.e. Rs. 500/-.

For the Hackathon competition, the participants had to pitch their ideas to promote in areas of alternate material, recycling, circular economy etc. The total number of participants for this event was fifty-eight whereas the size of the team was 1 – 5 students. The number of winning teams for this competition was seven. The prize for the best idea from students of each campus was Rs. 2000/-.
