Master class on ‘Importance of Foot Anatomy on Footwear’ held at FDDI, Hyderabad campus
A master class on ‘Importance of Foot Anatomy on Footwear’ was held through online mode at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad campus on 17th August, 2021.
For reaping the benefit of digital communication, this exclusive class was organized by FDDI School of Footwear Design & Production (FSFDP) of FDDI, Hyderabad campus which gave an in-depth knowledge of human foot anatomy & physiology and parameters to be considered for deigning of footwear.
Dr. Pawan Kumar Sadhvani was the key speaker for the master class who is practicing as Consultant Orthopaedic, Joint Replacement, Arthroscopic, Foot and Ankle surgeon in Hyderabad.
Dr. Pawan Kumar Sadhvani, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedics) from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Andhra Pradesh is a qualified fellowship joint replacement from Germany. He has been practicing for more than 13 years as an Orthopedic Surgeon Consultant (Hyderabad Nursing Home and Vijaya hospital and Consultant Arthroplasty (Hospital DU Cinquantenaire, Africa).
Through a presentation, Dr. Pawan provided insight and practical advice related to structure and function of foot, basic parts of foot, classification of foot and foot abnormalities.
He shed light on Biomechanics, Gait cycle of the step, importance of swing phase and stand phase. He further briefed about anatomy of human foot and its structure, how each Bones and Joints, Ligaments and Tendons, Muscles, Nerves, Blood Vessels functions in human biomechanic, etc.
Dr. Pawan briefed about the various deformities, causes of Achilles tendon, remedies of flat feet and it types, how older people deal with flat feet, pronated and supinated foot, strengthening of Achilles tendon for performance footwear and importance of therapeutic footwear and so on.
During the interactive session he also clarified various queries raised by the participants.
The master class was attended by more than 160 participants including students, faculty members, staff members across 12 campuses of FDDI and from other institutions.
