Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Rohtak campus provided an industrial exposure to its students of FDDI School of Footwear Design & Production (FSFD&P) in Jalandhar’s Leather, Footwear & Allied Industries on 09th and 10th May 2022.
Under the supervision and guidance of the faculty of FDDI, a group of forty-six students of FDDI School of Footwear Design & Production (FSFDP) visited Nivia Sports Industries, Lamson Industries, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and Jay Dee Leather Pvt. Ltd.
The purpose of the visit was to provide exposure and familiarize the students with the professional working environment of leather, footwear and allied industries besides making them conversant with latest technological developments the manufacturing process for domestic & export market and providing them an opportunity to understand the practicality of physical and chemical testing.
At the respective industrial unit, the students were guided by the factory experts who explained them and also highlighted the relevance of technology & machines used for making products in the respective factories.
Through this visit, the students got an opportunity to learn about the working atmosphere and various functional areas like manufacturing, sequence of lasting operations, quality control, supply chain logistics, witnessed the tanning process & different type of leather finishing, variety of chemicals, machineries & techniques, process of last making, 3D Digitizing and other major operations of the industrial units besides understanding the process of testing of different materials.
