An inter-college competition, ‘Chandigarh Design Contest 2022’ was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Chandigarh (Banur) campus on 12th April 2022.
It was organized by FDDI School of Fashion Design (FSFD), Chandigarh during which students of Subharti University, Meerut and Global Galaxy Group, Ambala participated and showcase their collection.
Based on innovative and captivating themes, a total of 11 sequences were presented by the budding designers which included 6 by FDDI Chandigarh students, 2 by Subharti University students and 3 by Global Galaxy Group students.
The best collection was awarded to Subharti University; while FDDI Chandigarh 2018 batch and FDDI Chandigarh 2019 batch received the second and third award respectively, for their collection.
The idea behind organizing this event was to combine learning with a challenge that provided an exclusive platform to the students for displaying their talent to the spectators that would lead to excel in the fashion industry.
Prior to this, ‘Trend Walk Season 1’, was held at FDDI, Chandigarh (Banur) campus on 08th April 2022 during which the aspiring designers of graduating batch of 2018 presented their astounding collection on exciting themes namely, Cells to Sapiens, Zoella, Motley, and Sciamachy.
This event was marked by the esteemed presence of dignitaries from the industry which included Mr. Dharmender Pachisia, Managing Director - VIKING Garments, Dr. Vandana Gupta - a national award winner for her contribution in Academics and Research, Mr. Parvesh Gorshi, owner of Bespoke Export House, Mr. Raja Pratap, NIFT Alumni and an Educator.
The objective of organizing ‘Trend Walk Season 1’ was to develop next generation talent pool for the fashion industry.
