Awareness program on 'Jute as Eco-solutions & Jute Mark Logo Bag Promotion’ held at FDDI, Hyderabad in collaboration with National Jute Board

An insightful awareness program on 'Jute as Eco-solutions & Jute Mark Logo Bag Promotion’ was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad campus in collaboration with National Jute Board (NJB), Hyderabad Branch on 24th August, 2022.

It was organized by School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design (SLGAD) of FDDI, Hyderabad campus with an aim to create awareness about Jute as eco-friendly materials and for Jute Mark Logo Bag Promotion and thus, help in creating better designs for the world.

Mr. Narsimha Bindla, Marketing Promotion Officer in NJB, Government of India was a key speaker who is associated with NJB since 1994.

The introductory session was delivered by Mr. Deepak Choudhary, Centre Incharge- FDDI, Hyderabad campus who emphasized on the advantages of using jute over other materials.

Mr. Narsimha explained about various important aspects of Jute manufacturing, its properties and importance of jute as ecological solutions and also explained about various scheme offered by NJB.

He briefed that with the unveiling of ‘Jute Mark India’ logo in July 2022, the Government of India introduced certification of authenticity for jute products to promote, protect and boost domestic market and exports of jute products from India.

This event was actively attended by more than 300 students and faculty members of FDDI, Hyderabad. The participants shared various ideas about utilization of jute in the product design industry. Jute bags were distributed among all the students, faculty and staff member.
