In a vibrant celebration of India’s indigenous textile heritage, FDDI, Patna Campus partnered with the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to host the Khadi Mahotsav, promoting Khadi, rural crafts, and sustainable fashion. The event held on 24th September 2025 showcased the traditional charkha popularized by Mahatma Gandhi, encouraged youth participation, and reinforced Khadi’s role in self-reliance, local employment, and nation-building.
Today, Khadi symbolizes sustainability, slow fashion, and artisan empowerment. Through initiatives like Khadi Mahotsav, KVIC, in collaboration with FDDI, aims to bridge craftsmanship with design education, expand market access for artisans, and foster innovation in traditional fabrics, while inspiring younger generations to embrace the “Vocal for Local” movement.
