The Pleach India Foundation, in collaboration with the FDDI, Hyderabad, will host a three-day National Seminar and Exhibition on the Footwear Heritage of India from 28th to 30th November 2025 at the FDDI Campus. The event will bring together scholars, designers, students, and heritage enthusiasts to celebrate and rediscover India’s rich footwear traditions.
The seminar will feature scholarly discussions, exclusive exhibitions, and hands-on experiences. A highlight of the event is the “Make Your Own Chappal” workshop, allowing participants to experience the art of traditional craftsmanship. The evenings will showcase cultural programs celebrating India’s diverse heritage.
To formalize the collaboration, an MoU was signed between Dr. Narasimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS, Executive Director (ED), FDDI, and Dr. Tejaswini Yarlagadda, Chairperson, Pleach India Foundation. The organizers noted that this unique initiative will serve as a meaningful platform to connect with tradition while exploring its relevance to contemporary design and innovation.

The MoU exchange ceremony which took place on 18th September 2025 was graced by Dr. E. Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, Pleach India Foundation; Dr. Sanathana Y. S., Director (Research & Projects); and Mr. Abdul Rehman, Head of Department, FDDI Hyderabad.
