Awareness Programme on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program held at FDDI, Chandigarh (Banur) campus

An awareness programme on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) scheme, which is being implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Chandigarh (Banur) campus on 25th November 2021.

FDDI, in collaboration with Khadi & Village Industry Commission (KVIC), State Office (State of Punjab & Union Territory of Chandigarh) organized it.

During the awareness programme, Mr. K.C. Rai, KVIC State Director and Mr. Ved Prakash, Assistant Director, KVIC Chandigarh briefed the participants about PMEGP scheme which is being run with the objective of providing financial and technical assistance to small and medium scale manufacturing and service enterprises.

Through a presentation, they briefed that through PMEGP scheme, the main objective of the Government of India is to create such entrepreneurs who can generate employment for themselves and for others as well, so that the pressure of providing employment on the existing structure can be eased out. They briefed about the overview of scheme and the procedure to be followed for availing benefit under the scheme.

They informed that KVIC invites all such individuals, and organizations, who want to set up their own business units under the authorized categories. KVIC not only helps in providing financial and technical assistance to the beneficiaries under various government schemes, but also arranges for their training, if required.

The programme was attended by the students and staff of FDDI, Chandigarh (Banur) campus.
