4 FDDI students gets 1st prize during CLE Design Award 2020


Four student of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) received the first prize in the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Design Award 2020 during the inaugural function of 53rd LERIG 2020 held on Tuesday, 28th January 2020 at Triple Helix Auditorium, CSIR-CLRI, Chennai.

The students namely, Mrs. Sushmita Phukan, M. DES CAD of FDDI, NOIDA campus, Mr. Angshal Chattapadhyaya, M. DES CAD of FDDI, NOIDA campus, Ms. Subhi Sharma, B. DES (LGAD) of FDDI, Banur campus and Mr. Mujeebur Rahman, B.SC (FDP) Footwear Design of FDDI, Chennai campus received the award in students category.

Mrs. Sushmita Phukan, a student of M. DES CAD of FDDI, NOIDA campus won the first prize in the Best Shoe Design – Ladies Boot (Elegant) in Students category.

Her concept was focus on multi-utility-new strategic approach. The boot is a convertible one which gets transformed in to three different products i.e. “Boot, Bag & Belt”.

Mr. Angshal Chattapadhyaya, a student of M. DES CAD of FDDI, NOIDA campus won the first prize in the Best Shoe Design – Mens Shoe (Classic) in Students category.

His concept is based upon Midnight Sky theme. The shoe is made of premium quality patent leather and equipped with embossed leather sole. This is the shoe for modern gentlemen ready to rule the day and night.

Another student, Ms. Subhi Sharma of B. DES (LGAD) of FDDI, Banur campus won the first prize for Ladies Hand Bag in Students category.

The designing of the bag is an amalgamation of contemporary world and the modern timeline sillhoutte, taking into consideration between people and shapes, as well as compatibility between shapes & surroundings.

Mr. Mujeebur Rahman, a student of B.SC (FDP) Footwear Design of FDDI, Chennai campus won the first prize in the Best Shoe Design – Mens Shoe (Sports Casual) in Students category.

The shoe design was made of tan cow leather with different style line. This sports casual men shoe is cushioned on tongue and collar with TPR sole which enhances extra grip and acts as anti-slippery, along with providing comfort to the wearer. This casual sneaker can be also used as a sports shoe.
