Executive Development Programme for the Footwear Manufacturer’s Association of Nepal organized by FDDI, Noida


A week long Executive Development Programme (EDP) especially designed for the Footwear Manufacturer’s Association of Nepal (FMAN) was conducted by Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) at its Noida campus from 20th – 25th November 2017.


FMAN is the common institution of the footwear manufacturers of Nepal established in the year 2000 located at COCA Office, 5th Floor, United World Trade Centre, Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, Nepal.

FMAN, besides industrial expo, provides various apprenticeships training program to Nepalese youth to develop their skill and make self- reliant in the area of footwear manufacturing.


A total of 11 executives from various companies of FMAN underwent for this specialized EDP, which was theoretical as well as practical oriented.


Those who attended the EDP included Mr. Abhishek Shrestha from Smart Shoes Industry, Mr. Diwakar Giri from Namaste Footwear Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Aashish Timalsina from Shubha Labh Footwear, Mr. Bishal Sharma Phuyal from Laligurans Footwear (Crossroad), Mr. Purna Chandra Nayak from Kiran Shoes Manufacturers (Goldstar), Mr. Prashanna Gautam from Caliber Shoes, Mr. Saurabh Shrestha from Nepal Shoe Factory, Mr. Shaman Ghimire from Shubha Kamana Footwear, Ms. Shusila Dhungel from Modern Shoes, Ms. Laxmi Adhikari from Run Shoes Industries and Mr. Anup Manandhar from Comfort Felt & Craft Pvt. Ltd.


The highly trained technical experts of FDDI delivered their expertise as lectures, power point presentation, slides, and samples. The content of this meticulously designed training programme included Footwear Sector- The Global Perspective, Design & Forecasting, Trends & IT Technologies for Design, Footwear Materials & Material Optimization, Polymer Technology- Soling & Upper Technology, Closing Technology, Shoe room practices and modern practices, Value Addition through Shoe Finishing, Sole Unit Production, Production Planning & Control and Industrial visit.


On 25th November 2017, Mr. Adarsh Kumar, AFHQ CS, Executive Director, FDDI gave the completion certificates to the participants.
