National Seminar on "From Print to Digital: Libraries in the Neo-Information Environment" was organized at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida on March 25, 2017.


FDDI in association with Asian Library Associations (ASIALA) organized the seminar which was attended by 165 participants from different institutions of repute like IIT Delhi, Jamia, University of Delhi, JNU, AMU, BHU, NIFT, External min library, Agra University, Benetton University, JP University, Sharda University, IIM Noida campus, KR Mangalam University, JK Business School, Shiv Nadar University, Amity University, faculty & staff of FDDI Noida & FDDI Rohtak campus etc.


The objective of the seminar was to provide a forum for the dissemination and exchange of ideas among faculty members, Research Scholars and delve into the issue of how libraries can sensitize the user community towards the appropriate use of information through training, research and capacity building programmes.


The seminar started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mr. Adarsh Kumar, Executive Director, FDDI Noida in the august presence of President Asisan Library Association, Dr. SS Dhaka, Dr. Ramesh Gaur, University Librarian, JNU, Dr. Jaideep Sharma, Prof & University Librarian IGNOU, Dr. Tariq Ashraf, Librarian, South Campus, University of Delhi.

During the technical sessions of the seminar, seven papers were presented pre-lunch & eight papers were presented post-lunch.

The audiences were all ears to listen to the experts valued inputs & the papers were appreciated by all.


A research book containing full research papers on Library and Information Science (LIS) was also released on this occasion.


The seminar provide a floor for deliberations on strategies, policies and best practices where eminent speakers brought varied angle thoughts, ideas and work progress suggestions to improve LIS.
