Webinar on ‘Standards for Footwear’ organized by FDDI, Hyderabad campus
A webinar on ‘Standards for Footwear’ was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad campus on 02nd August, 2021 under the head Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Awareness Program.
The webinar having four sessions was organized by FDDI School of Footwear Design & Production (FSFDP) of FDDI, Hyderabad campus and presented by BIS, Hyderabad Branch Office (HYBO).
BIS is the national standard body of India established under the BIS Act 2016 for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization.
Using the electronic and digital platform for effective communication, the webinar provided an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from some of the renowned experts in testing, inspection and certification to navigate the complexities associated with proper safety & quality processes.
The key speakers i.e. the scientists from the BIS, through presentation & discussion provided critical information on the ever-changing requirements that affects industries across the globe.
During the open house discussion session, the scientist briefed about the various testing methods, BIS standards for footwear and application of these standards, and also clarified various technical queries asked by the manufacturers, industrialists and other participants.
The webinar was attended by more than 210 participants including students, faculty members, staff members across 12 campuses of FDDI and from other institutions and manufacturer and industrialist, such as Bata India Ltd., Paduka Enterprises, TUV SUD South Asia Ltd., Footshape, Patliputra, SUKHSON, Indiana Footgear, Nicoli Shoes, Cherie Life Private Limited.
