FDDI celebrates ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with patriotic fervour


‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ - the monumental occasion of 75 years of ‘Quit India Movement’ was celebrated with great enthusiasm & patriotism across Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campuses.

To commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture & achievements, several events/ competitions were held at FDDI campuses located at Noida, Fursatganj, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak, Chhindwara, Guna, Jodhpur, Ankleshwar, Banur, Patna and Hyderabad.

Amid maintaining precautionary measures of COVID-19 pandemic, the events/ competitions were organized from 9th August 2021 to 23rd August 2021.

The events/ competitions held by FDDI included Quiz Competition, Poster Making Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, T- Shirt Painting Competition, Dress-up like Tri-colour Competition, Essay Writing Competition, Banner Making Competition, Run for Unity etc. based on ‘Quit India Movement’ theme.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic and as per the guidelines issued by Central & various State governments, the majority of the events were organized on-line.

Spreading the message of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, FDDI, Kolkata campus organized a ‘Drawing Competition’ for 60 students of Ananda Ghar, an abode of HIV Positive children, being run by an NGO ‘Offer’ which imparts skill based training to the residing children.

Keeping in view the initiative taken by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, a large number of singing and uploading of 'National Anthem' was also done by the staff and students of FDDI under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration.

The award and prize for the performances of the students and the campuses of FDDI was given on 27th August 2021 by Mr. Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS, Managing Director (MD), FDDI. All the campuses and students of FDDI saw this ceremony as the entire event was made live using virtual platform.

Delivering the ‘Keynote Address’, Mr. Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS, MD, FDDI, said, “To celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ as envisioned by our Hon'ble Prime Minister, FDDI has organized a series of activities which is an attempt to highlight the contributions of not only the known, but, also the unacknowledged valiant freedom fighters of our country.”

“I want to tell all of you that ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is a continuous festival, in which the best way to pay tribute to those great leaders and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of India would be that, we take a pledge today that we will always be committed to strengthen the unity, integrity of our nation and make the country proud with our hard work and dedication with all our sincerity”, added Mr. Sinha.

A total of 2455 participants which included employees & students across all the campuses of FDDI enthusistically participated in the events/ competitions that were organized during ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration making the event successful & a memmorable one.
