Academic and cultural fest - ‘Design Sync 2025’ of FDDI, Hyderabad Campus was held from 21st to 25th April 2025. The event was an amalgamation of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design innovation, featuring seminars on AI in design, artisan demonstrations, entrepreneurial activities like Business Blitz, and events such as the Design Hackathon and E-Bazaar.
A key highlight of the occasion was signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FDDI Hyderabad and National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID-AP). This strategic partnership aims to boost academic collaboration and industry-aligned education.
On behalf of FDDI, Dr. Narasimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS, Executive Director (ED), FDDI-Hyderabad signed the MoU, whereas, on behalf of NID-AP, Dr. Bhaumik Nagar Director, signed the MoU. Senior faculty members, students and officials from both premier design institutions were present to witness the formal exchange of the agreement.
The MoU which is valid for three years, with progress reviews every six months includes faculty and student exchange programs, joint research in emerging design fields, shared use of labs and infrastructure, and industry-focused projects enhancing innovation and employability.
The collaboration spans multiple design disciplines including Industrial and Communication Design, Textile and Apparel Design, Footwear Design and Production, Fashion Merchandising and Retail, and Leather Goods and Accessories Design.
