FDDI celebrated National Sports Day 2025 from 29th to 31st August 2025 across all its twelve campuses with the theme “Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Maidaan Mein!!”. The three-day celebration paid tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and promoted physical fitness, sportsmanship, and the spirit of the Fit India Movement.
The event commenced with floral tributes to Major Dhyan Chand, followed by the administration of the Fit India Pledge to staff and students.
A variety of indoor and outdoor sports competitions such as Tug of War, Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom, Sack Race, Spoon Race, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Rope Skipping, Cycling Rally, and Marathon were organized, creating an atmosphere of energy and enthusiasm. Active participation from students, faculty, non-teaching staff, alumni, and children highlighted inclusivity and unity across all campuses.
Alongside the competitions, cultural programmes and awareness sessions were held, focusing on the values of teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship while recalling the enduring legacy of Major Dhyan Chand. Extending the celebration beyond the campus, cycling rallies and fitness awareness drives were also organized in local communities, thereby aligning with the objectives of the Fit India Movement.
To amplify the impact, the celebrations were widely showcased on digital platforms through pre-event teasers, live updates, and post-event highlights with hashtags #NSD2025 and #KhelegaDeshKhilegaDesh, receiving significant attention and engagement. The activities were further highlighted through coverage on news portals, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, reflecting the nationwide enthusiasm for fitness and sports.
