FDDI actively participated in the 9th India International Footwear Fair (IIFF) 2025, held from 6th to 8th August 2025 at Hall No. 5 & 6, Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Organized by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and co-organized by the Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries (CIFI), the event was graced by the presence of Mr. Vivek Sharma, IRS – Managing Director, FDDI, Colonel Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary, FDDI, Mr. V. Noushad, President, CIFI, Mr. Raj Kumar Gupta, Sr. Vice President, CIFI, along with other industry leaders and dignitaries.
At its stall, FDDI showcased design collections created by students from various campuses and presented the facilities of its seven Centres of Excellence (CoE). The Innovation and Design section displayed handbags, outfits, leather products, and footwear created by students, reflecting their creativity and craftsmanship, while the Marketing and Services section offered a carefully curated Service Compendium that enabled visitors to gain a comprehensive understanding of FDDI’s training, education, and consultancy offerings. The strong alumni network of the institute was also highlighted, with alumni such as Nidhi and Yogesh Mankar collaborating with the FDDI team at the stall and engaging with visitors.
On the inaugural day, FDDI, in association with CIFI, organized a seminar on Quality Management and Research in Innovation at Bharat Mandapam, which featured eminent speakers including Mr. Amit Choudhary, Scientist E/Director, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Mr. Sharad Srivastava, Joint Director, Centre of Excellence (CoE) and International Consultant, who shared their expertise on quality management systems, certification, and innovation in the footwear and leather sector. A special presentation under Fresh Feet, a collaborative initiative of FDDI, further highlighted innovative design and development projects undertaken by students.
The second day marked one of the most captivating highlights of the fair as FDDI, in collaboration with CIFI, organized a fashion show on 7th August 2025 at Hall No. 4, Bharat Mandapam. FDDI students led the show, presenting distinctive footwear, apparel, and accessory collections that mesmerized the audience with their creativity, grace, and technical excellence. The show concluded to thunderous applause, affirming its success and showcasing the immense potential of young designers trained at the institute.
Through its active participation in IIFF 2025, FDDI once again reinforced its identity as a center of innovation, creativity, and industry collaboration, while strengthening its role in shaping the future of the Indian footwear and leather industry.
