Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary-FDDI was invited as a ‘Guest of Honour’ during the recently concluded ‘SHOETECH Mumbai 2023’ - Buyer-Sellers Meet cum Exhibition organized by Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) held on 4th & 5th September 2023 at Nehru Centre (2nd Floor), Worli, Mumbai.
Apart from Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary-FDDI, the inauguration was attended by Mr. R Selvam, Executive Director, Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Mr. Naresh Bhasin, Chairman, Western Region, CLE, Mr. HR Malik, Chairman, Maliks Traders, Mr. Shaifullah Khan, Managing Director, Zara Footwear, Mumbai, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, President, IFCOMA, Mr. Dhammajyoti Gajbhiye, Managing Director, LIDCOM, Mr. Arman Ali Khan, President, Footwear Manufacturers Welfare Association, Mumbai, Mr. Tarachand P Paliya, President Thakkar Bappa Footwear Materials Merchants Welfare Association, Mumbai and many other stalwarts of the industry.
IFCOMA which is having a strength of over 200 members comprising of manufacturers of Sole, Insole, Lasts, Toe puff and Counter, linings, Interlinings, adhesives, Metallic fittings, Chemicals & Compounds, Clicking Dies, Eyelets, EVA Sheets & Compounds, Finishes & Polishes, Labels, Laces etc., has been instrumental in providing a fillip to the industry.
With the strong support of all trade institutions, it was IFCOMA’s 55th event in series and 12th edition of Mumbai "SHOETECH 2023" during which exhibitors displayed various footwear components, accessories & machinery which included specialized Soles (TPR/TPU/PU etc.) of the latest design, Plastic shoe lasts, Insoles, Toe-puff & Counters, Linings & Interlinings, Threads, Finishes & Chemicals, Packaging Boxes, Shoe Machinery etc.
Delivering his ‘Keynote Address’ Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary-FDDI said, “The Indian Leather and Footwear industry is aiming to reach achieve the ambitious target of USD 47 Billion by 2030. To achieve this ambitious target, a synergy of various industries like footwear, fashion and components & accessories industry is an inevitable factor.”
One of the key highlights of ‘SHOETECH Mumbai 2023’ is its emphasis on sustainable practices. It featured exhibitors and presentations dedicated to eco-friendly materials, recyclable components, and sustainable production processes. Attendees had the opportunity to witness the transformative power of sustainable practices in reshaping the future of footwear.
SHOETECH was successful to provide an opportunity to enhance the business prospect and create a direct link between the various players of footwear, leather and components industry.
