Under the supervision and guidance of the faculty of FDDI, Hyderabad campus, the students of ‘Foundation Batch’ of School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP) & School of Leather Goods & Accessory Design (LGAD) visited the ‘Shilparamam-A Craft Village’ Hyderabad, on 15th May 2023.
The visit was organized with an objective to provide a solid foundation to the students and to update their knowledge towards the culture of India’s glorious past, design and craft heritage.
Craftsmen from all over India, display their works at ‘Shilparamam’, varying from traditional jewellery, hand-woven saris, shawls, dresses, bed sheets, hand-crafted wooden, Glass work, Pottery, Paintings and metal wares.
‘Shilparamam with its natural greenery facilitate artisans work by comprising craft museum, Leather Puppet Museum, Cultural museum, Art Gallery & Library, Multi-purpose Auditorium, Common facility workshops & amphi theater.
Students observed the amazing ancient artistic work in objects & articles in display. Students got the opportunity to study Design, Art, Dimensions and surface textures in paintings, pottery, crafts and sculptures. They got an opportunity to understand minute detailing and workmanship of various artisans of different states at one platform. It will help them further application of these techniques in their projects and assignments.
