On 2nd August 2023, FDDI attended the launch ceremony of ‘Study in India’ Portal in New Delhi.
Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan and Union External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar jointly launch Study in India (SII) Portal which serves as a one-stop platform that simplifies international students’ academic journey in India and will play a pivotal step in making India a preferred destination for higher education.
Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar; Minister of State for Education, Mrs. Annpurna Devi; Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Mr. Rajkumar Singh; Member of Parliament, Dr. Mahesh Sharma; senior officials of Ministry of Education and Skill Development and Ambassadors of more than 10 countries attended the event.
SII Portal is a dedicated website that will provide comprehensive information about the Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The vision for the portal is guided by the new National Education Policy (NEP).
The SII programme is a flagship project introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in 2018 that seeks to endorse India as a prime education hub for international students by inviting them to pursue their higher education in the country and explore valuable educational opportunities enabled by top Indian universities.
Representing FDDI, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary attended the launch of SII portal that will provide a fillip in establishing a strong international footprint of brand ‘India’ in the education sphere across the globe.
FDDI is partner institution for the SII Scheme of the Government of India.
FDDI has developed website targeting international student under Study in India scheme ( https://www.studyinindia.gov.in/institute_details?instituet_ID=SII-I- 0269&active_tab_index=0 ) through which international students can pursue Under graduate and Post graduate programmes in areas of footwear, leather, fashion, retail and management.
