Budding designers from FDDI to get a boost through Bata’s ‘Young Designer's Challenge 2019’ competition

Bata is launching ‘Young Designer's Challenge 2019’ competition for budding designers from prestigious institutes like Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

The objective of this ‘Young Designer's Challenge 2019’  competition is to discover young, talented designers from footwear and design institutes, provide them with exposure and opportunity to succeed on a large scale, testing their acquired skills and work on a commercial project.

To launch the ‘Young Designer's Challenge 2019’  competition and to provide the design brief to the student of FDDI, Noida campus, the design team from Bata along with their Head Designer from Italy, Mr. Mathews visited the institute on Friday, 26 April 2019.

Mr. Mathews, through a presentation briefed about the criteria for selecting the winning design, process and timelines and how to register online through the available link: https://forms.gle/CM7Wq8NhtHD4CpcNA. Around 150 students attended the design brief.

The information about the same is also circulated to the other campuses of FDDI located at Fursatganj, Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak, Chhindwara, Guna, Jodhpur, Ankleshwar, Banur, Patna and Hyderabad so that all the interested students may participate in this competition.

For participation in this competition, the students have to register themselves online for the initial design brief. Students from any stream may participate. The shortlisted design students will be working under the mentorship of Bata professionals and the project may also be treated as research/design project for the student as it will be spread over a period of 3-4 months. 

It would be an excellent opportunity for the students as the winning Design gets recognition which will be part of Bata’s Limited Collection, Pre-Placement Offer from Bata and Apple MacBook Pro.
