‘5th International Yoga Day’ celebrated at FDDI campuses

‘5th International Yoga Day’ was celebrated at the respective campus of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) on 21st June 2019.

To mark its significance and raise awareness about the many benefits of yoga, the United Nations proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga in December 2014.


The theme for this year’s celebrations was ‘Climate Action’. Ministry of AYUSH was the nodal Ministry for observation of International Day of Yoga (IDY) across the country.


On this occasion, the staff members at the respective campus of FDDI joined together and performed pranayam and asanaas to de-stress their soul, mind and body.

Yoga works on the level of one's body, mind, emotion, energy and empowers themselves to tackle academic, professional, economic, personal and social challenges of life judiciously with a smile.

The teaching and non-teaching members of various departments participated in the Yoga sessions where various asanaas, exercises, paranayam and relaxation techniques that comprise yoga in totality were performed.

Yoga, which helps in maintaining mental and physical well-being of a person, is widely practiced to lead a healthy life.

The advantages of practicing Yoga in our day to day life can be sensed both externally & internally after a regular and diligent practice of Yoga.

The celebration was a reminder for all individuals to incorporate Yoga in their lives to be happy.
