Workshop on ‘e-Granthalaya Software’ organized at FDDI, Noida

A three day’s workshop on ‘e-Granthalaya Software’ for automation and networking of Government Libraries was organized at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida Library in association with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, New Delhi.

E-Granthalaya is a useful Library Management Software developed by NIC, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for the public libraries which is available on Cloud.

 

The workshop which was conducted from 5th to 7th September 2019 was attended by library staff of other government institutions and also by library staff of other campuses of FDDI.

The workshop was inaugurated on September 5, 2019, by Dr. Sanjay Kataria, University Librarian, Bennett University (Times of India), Gr. Noida.  In his address, Dr. Kataria briefed on effective use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in re-packaging e-resources and users-centric customized services etc.

Mr. Ram Kumar Matoria, Sr. Technical Director, NIC - New Delhi, Mr. Jitendera Yadav, Sr. Programmer, e-Granthalaya Project were the trainers / resource persons of the workshop who briefed about the role of automated libraries in the society to the participants.

During the workshop, besides theoretical, practical session was also organized with an objective to give practical hands on training on e-Granthalaya.

All the participants appreciated the role of NIC in the movement of computerization of libraries using e-Granthalaya Software.
