Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) in association with Confederation of Indian Footwear Industries (CIFI) organized a ‘Fashion Show’ during the 4th edition of the India International Footwear Fair 2018 (IIFF) held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 2nd to 4th August 2018.
IIFF 2018 was inaugurated by Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India on 2nd August 2018.
On this occasion, Mr. L C Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director, India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Mr. Deepak Kumar, Executive Director, ITPO, Mr. R K Gupta, Senior Vice - President, CIFI, Ms. Hema Maity, General Manager, ITPO, Mr. V Noushad, Vice-President, CIFI, delegates along with participants from India and abroad were present.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India said, "India would be a global hub for manufacturing to cater to the growing demand for Indian footwear globally. The government has geared up to plan a strategy for a meaningful interface with different States as well as trade bodies".
IIFF had display of entire range of products relating to footwear and leather industries: footwear, raw material, finished products and auxiliary products such as Synthetic material, finished leather; shoe components - uppers, soles, heels, counters, lasts; footwear machinery and equipment, process technology, software, chemicals and publications.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion in the esteemed presence of Mr. Vipul Goel, Hon’ble Industries & Commerce Minister, Government of Haryana.
During the fair, the ‘Technical Design & Display’ division conducted a jury for adjudging the best display for which the jury members were Mr. Rajeev Kanaujia – Chief Architect, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ms. Prachi Sharma, Junior Consultant, FDDI and Ms. Kavita Nayar, Eminent Artist.
The categories for the judgement were Machinery, Components, Chemicals, Finished Products & materials & Overseas / Foreign participants. The stalls were judged on the basis of the technical display, ambience, and information regarding the products displayed; stall design & various other variables. There were about 263 participants from India, China & Japan.
FDDI in association with CIFI organized a ‘Fashion Show’ on 3rd August 2018 at 6:00 PM at Pragati Maidaan, Hall No. 11. The event was graced by the valuable presence of Mr. Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS – Managing Director, FDDI, Mr. Adarsh Kumar and Mr. Vikas Singh, IRS - Executive Director, FDDI.
During the show, the students of the Institute got an opportunity to showcase their creations crafted during the course in a dedicated 50 minutes slot.
There were six sequences in the fashion show and the show concluded with young CIFI organizers walking on the ramp.
Audience was mesmerized by the grace and beauty of the entire show. The event was a huge success as it was well appreciated in the form of thunderous applause after the show.
