FDDI student won Bronze medal for India in 19th Milo International Karate Championship

Ms. Rohini Shahi, a student of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) Noida campus won Bronze medal for India in the recently concluded 19th Milo International Karate Championship.

The Milo Karate Championship is an established event in the Annual Karate events and sports data global calendar recognized by World Karate Federation (WKF). It comes under world and Asian Federation and the medalist gets Asian ranking.

She won the Bronze medal for the country in senior female individual kumite (+ 68 Kg. category) in the 19th Milo International Karate Championship (World Championship) which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 27th June 2018 to 2nd July 2018.

Ms. Rohini is doing Karate since last 17 years and is a Shodan black belt holder. She got selected in this tournament through All India National ranking as she played for the Karate Association of India, National Games 2018 held in Talkatora stadium New Delhi. After that she got selected for 19th Milo International Karate Championship (World Championship) under Traditional Shoto Kai Karate -Do Association (recognized by Karate Association of India).

She won Bronze medal for India on the bout over Japan, Malasiya, Indonesia, Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Sabah, Bangladesh and her final bout for bronze medal was with international player Ms. Bawanti Bulan of Indonesia.

Ms. Rohini Shah is a 3rd year student of FDDI (2016-19 batch), pursuing Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management (FMRM) programme from Noida campus. Upon her return, she was felicitated by Mr. Adarsh Kumar, Executive Director, Noida.

For developing an international competition team for the country, and as a way of supporting the student for participating in this Championship in achieving her dream, her entire Karate kit was sponsored by FDDI.
