Ms. Monika Choudhary - Faculty of Fashion Design (FD) at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) Jodhpur campus was selected as Scientific Reviewer and Speaker in the recently concluded International Conference on Fashion and Textile Design (ICF&TD) which was held on 27th and 28th September 2018 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Ms. Monika is pursuing Ph.D. in Clothing & Textiles form Banasthali Vidhyapeeth, Jaipur. She has done M.Hsc. (Textiles & Clothing) from Meerut University and is having professional experience of more than ten years in academics.
During the ICF&TD, Ms. Monika presented her paper on “Eco –printing of Textile substrate with Flower and Leaves Imprint Technology”.
The event was organised in Galle Face hotel, to discuss prospects in the field of creation that encourages the intersection between the know-how and imagination of creators (designers, creators, plastic artists, architects, decorators).
The Global Academic Research Institute (GARI) had organised this exceptional event in which many fashion and textile professionals from different countries like France, China, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan etc. participated.
The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Samudrika Wijayapala, Director of Textile and Technological Design Department of the University of Moratuwa during which Dr. Larissa Noury was invited as Keynote Speaker and Chairperson in the conference. Beside this, Ms. Niharika Gautam - Mentor at the museum of Modern Art in the New York and Chairperson at Delhi Fashion Chapter all ladies league in India was also present during the ICF&TD as session in chair.
Dr. Larissa Noury after returning from the ICF&TD to France had a media interaction there regarding the same in which she introduced the participants to her research on the development of colour harmonies in art, fashion design and architecture including the film “Art & Fashion: poetry of the colours”.
Dr. Larissa also briefed about the presentation of others, among which she spoke about the presentation of Ms. Monika about the new method of applying the colours of flowers and leaves printed on textiles in an environmentally responsible manner.
