Industry Insights at FDDI Noida by Ms. Anima Gupta, Myntra’s VM Head

On 13 February 2026, the School of Retail & Fashion Merchandise at FDDI, Noida, hosted an insightful industry session on “Display Dynamics – The Strategic Blend of Creativity and Commercial Insights that Transforms Retail Space into an Engaging Brand Experience.” The session was delivered by Ms. Anima Gupta, Pan-India Visual Merchandising Head at Myntra Pvt. Ltd., an esteemed alumna of FDDI who currently leads visual merchandising for global brands such as Mango, Nautica, and NEXT.

With over 13 years of industry experience, Ms. Gupta shared valuable perspectives on how visual merchandising extends far beyond decorative displays, functioning as a strategic, revenue-driving tool that shapes customer perception and influences purchasing decisions. She emphasised the importance of capturing the “Attention” stage in the AIDA model, highlighting how thoughtfully designed retail environments can significantly impact consumer behaviour.

The session also shed light on the role of data-driven tools such as planograms and KPI tracking, which enable retailers to optimise product placement and maximise sales per square foot. A key takeaway from the interaction was her compelling insight that while marketing attracts customers into the store, visual merchandising persuades them to make the purchase.

By integrating creativity, consumer psychology, and analytical insights, the session provided students with a deeper understanding of how retail spaces are strategically designed to evoke customer engagement and deliver measurable business outcomes.
